Flor de Cana rum Gold Label 4 Years is a rum from Nicaragua. Receiving its name from its golden amber color, this traditional 4 year old rum offers a medium body with a vanilla bouquet and a delicious taste. Flor de Cana Rum, the pride of Nicaragua, was first produced at the San Antonio sugar mill in Chichigalpa in 1890. At the time, young rum were drunk to celebrate the sugar cane harvest. Limited quantities of better tasting "aged" rum were reserved for and drunk by the proprietors of the mill but later the preference for aged rum spread to the population at large.
